Former Rockets… Taking It to the Next Level

Catch up on some of Rockland Rockets past players. Throughout the years, we’ve had the privilege of mentoring some outstanding young athletes, so take some time to read about some of our former athletes to see how they are taking it to the next level.

Joe Lindsey – Gannon Golden Knights
Read all about Joe’s latest game from Gannon Sports
Senior point guard Joe Lindsey did everything during Wednesday’s victory…posting a season-high 18 points, eight steals, seven assists and seven rebounds.

Brett Harvey – Loyola Greyhounds
Read Brett’s impressive Profile as a Loyola Greyhound.
Brett Harvey has started 61 games in his two seasons at Loyola and has been a part of 37 wins during that time - the best two-run since the 1954-1955 and 1955-1956 Greyhounds teams won that many more than a half-century ago.

Shaun Weaver - St Thomas Aquinas Spartans
Read about Shaun and the Spartans.
Shaun Weaver stole the ball with seconds remaining in the first half and converted on the traditional three point play to bring STAC within one at halftime (31-32).

Pierre Gaspard – St Thomas Aquinas Spartans
Read about Pierre and the Spartans.
Pierre Gaspard hit key free throws late in the game to keep the Spartans in control.

The Rockets THANK YOU!!!

The Rockland Rockets hosted two very successful Charity Events and would like to thank all of those who came out to support us with a special thanks to St Thomas Aquinas College who co-sponsored our All Star Games. It’s always great to see the community come together to help those most in need. Combined, The Drills and Skills Clinics and All Star HS Basketball Games raised an impressive $1105 to benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston who are still recovering from the devastation of hurricane Ike. Both the All Star Boys and Girls Teams played spirited games down to the last buzzer. We are very proud of all the players proving that Rockland is made up of caring young ladies and gentlemen willing to “give back” to the community and their fellow youths.

Congratulations to Kelly Mulligan from Pearl River HS and Mike Marchman from St Josephs Regional HS who were our MVP’s for the games. Our All Star girls line-up included Jillian Crawford, Kasheema Besley, Rachel McNair, Brianne Traub, Christina Saunders, Fiona Pierre, Brittany Edwards, Kelly Mulligan, Taylor Wilson, Regina Angenzio, Alaina Walker, Felicia Decruz. Megan Curran, Shikiera Dumas, Venesha Hunter, Jasmine Gibson, and Kelly Hughes. The All Star boys were Hilton Sneed, Jordan Gallagher, Nigel Satterfield, Doug Conway, Kevin Macahy, Billy Walsh, Moaaz Ahamad, John Berry Badio, Andres Cabrera, Erick Hinrichsen, Luke Houston, Steven Linnane, John Perez, Lester Anim, Coco Clemente, Jonathan Michel, Joe Efese, Mike Marchmann and Greg Torchon.

Another special thanks to the Coaches and Refs who came out to lead our All Star Players…Chris Meyers (Clarkstown South HS) and Vinny Marzella Jr (North Rockland HS) took charge of the boys and Stephanie Cleary (Tappan Zee HS) and Phil Lockett (Rockland Resident) led the girls.   Our volunteer Refs were Steve Beck, Debbie Archambault, Franklin Davis, Fred Gaines, Fidel Gonzalez and Bob Nelan

Once again, The Rockland Rockets Organization thanks all of you for your support and generosity.

ROCKLAND ROCKETS BASKETBALL PROGRAM
Empowering Young Athletes to Take It to the Next Level

It is the mission of the Rockland Rockets Basketball Program to educate and empower today’s youth with confidence, commitment and integrity, so they can live a productive and successful tomorrow. Our goal is to teach young athletes respect for themselves, their peers and their community by instilling a code of ethics built on honesty, responsibility and team work.

Together, our players,  families and volunteers work with unyielding spirit to cultivate a safe and disciplined environment so every child can reach their full potential, develop their talents and increase their skills in the game of basketball and more importantly… life.

Who We Are
The RRBP began 13 years ago with a dedicated group of men passionate about two things… raising healthy, successful children and playing the game of Basketball!

Today, our non-profit organization is over 275 families strong and participate in the  AAU Basketball Program, welcoming over 1000 players, friends and onlookers in the RRBP 2007 Tournament.   The Rockland Rockets family, including parents, coaches and sponsors is steadfast in our commitment to educate and encourage today’s adolescents who are destined to become tomorrow’s role models.

Our culturally diverse roster includes kids from all areas of Rockland County. The players are given the opportunity to travel and participate in highly competitive tournaments, as well as attend skill camps and customized practice sessions to strengthen their game.  To balance their commitment to basketball, we’ve developed tutorial programs to improve academic skills and we volunteer time in various community “give back” programs to inspire other youths, as well as have the teams participate in all Rockland Rockets fundraising events.
