The Rockland Rockets were formed by a group of men in Rockland County who love basketball and care about helping young athletes become good citizens.
Our mission is to form an A.A.U. Basketball Program that will teach kids the meaning of hard work, team spirit and good sportsmanship.
Through our program, we will help our players understand the need for a balance between being a good player and a good person. Our players will be exposed to other kids in different areas, thus expanding their horizons.
In addition, our goal is to have the participants provide support for the youth in our community, through various basketball tournaments and clinics. In order to channel these efforts into positive activities, we plan to teach the kids the need "to give something back to their community" rather than get involved in negative street activities. Seminars will be planned to promote positive role models in our communities.
In the future, we will work to bridge the "Digital Divide" within our community by exposing the athletes to computers and the Internet.
